Another great Maisie Dobbs novel! Jacqueline Winspear develops her characters with so much detail you feel like you are living in their world as you are reading. This particular book indeed deals with love and death, as the title suggests, and thus is a bittersweet mystery of a family's search for their son's murderer during the first WW. I love a heroine who is in a profession that is pretty much unheard of for females during that time and how she rises above all others' expectations.
