I like the storyline but the main character, Raven, is so unbelievably annoying and way to cheerful to be a goth chic.

Bought on a whim, due to a review quotation on the back comparing it with Marilynne Robinson's Gilead. Best thing I've read in a little while. Beautiful and sparse, one of those books that makes you think more and appreciate small things like open windows on a nice day. It also makes you realize how difficult and important it is to have relationships with fellow human beings.
