Twilight is the first book in the Twilight Saga. In this book Isabella(Bella) Swan moves from Phoenix, Arizona to Forks, Washington. When Bella arrives at Forks Charlie and her go to one of the only restaurants in the town. The next day Bella starts her first day at Forks High School. She meets many people that become her friends and discovers the Cullens. The youngest of the Cullens, Edward, is in her biology class, he doesn't speak to Bella and after school goes to see if he can switch to another class but can't. The next few weeks Edward doesn't show up for school but the rest of his family does. When Edward finally returns Bella was going to approach him and ask him why he had a problem with her, but she chickened out. In biology Edward introduces himself and him and Bella talk. At lunch Bella is invited by her friends to La Push beach and she invites Edward but he can't come. When she arrives at the beach she meets Jacob Black a family friend, and learns why the Cullens are not welcomed at La Push. Bella does some research and learns what Edward and his family are, they are vampires. Edward reveals the rest of his story and him and Bella start to date. Towards the end of the book a group of three vampires stops by while the Cullens are playing baseball with Bella watching. This turns into a problem, James the tracker of the group and Victoria his girlfriend chase Bella so that they can kill her and taunt Edward. Edward and his family do everything that they can to protect Bella. James tricks Bella and gets her into her old ballet studio and when Edward comes to get her out of there he bites Bella on the arm and almost transforms her into a vampire. After Bella is saved Edward takes her to the prom and the book ends. I would definitely recommend this book to any one that would like vampires and romance with a little bit of action in it.
I would recommend this book to anyone who has suffered from depression or knows someone who has .... Gwyneth has a beautiful gift of describing the journey into the cave and crawling out again, and how important it is to take your time.
