This book was what it looks like - a very dark read. I felt a little depressed and almost moody while reading it, but still couldn't put it down - it really lures you in. While I didn't enjoy the dark and sad feelings it instilled in me while reading, it was a really well-written, exciting, crazy and interesting book. I would still definitely recommend this one.
A decent beach read you can finish in a day.
Evidently this is a Young Adults book, but who would know? Set in Germany during the rise of Hitler, and cleverly narrated by Death, this is a heartbreaking story tempered with the humor of teenage antics. I found it to be very satisfying, and very sad.
One of the most intense books of the early 8th Doctor canon...and one that completely and totally deconstructs the Doctor by stripping him of everything he is, everything he can do, and everything he THINKS he can anticipate. One of Kate Orman's (and Jon Blum's) greatest contributions to the Doctor Who canon.
