Call me a nerd, but the process of compiling dictionaries has always fascinated me. This book is clearly written for a lay audience, weaving the nuts and bolts of lexicography into a compelling narrative about the history and odd personalities of the men who contributed to the creation of the OED. The book felt a little short to me - I wanted more!
