Makenna enters the elevator not paying attention to her surroundings, being a bit distracted; she only glimpsed a muscular arm with a dragon tattoo while entering. The elevator stops then, went pitch black. Cade notices Makenna when she enters the elevator, he does not get to see her face but notices her red hair. He also finds her fidgeting humorous. When the elevator is stuck, for Cade he becomes a bit terrified of the dark because of his past. Both Makenna and Cade will use their time wisely while stuck in the elevator. This was such a cute book with a dash of sexiness. I loved that Cade is not your typical male alpha in this romance novel. Even though he has his tattoos and piercings, he is shy and always unsure of how people perceive him. His characteristics work well in this particular story and he still seems sexy to me. Makenna is just your average girl who Cade thinks would not go for him because of the way he looks. I did enjoy both characters getting to know each other while the lights were out in the elevator, it made for an interesting read. I also liked when the lights came back on, that moment was timed perfectly, but after the lights came on AWKWARD! Makenna and Cade had an awkward moment that led to uncertainty but later turns steamy again. I loved the concept of the story and I surely can relate to both characters. I would definitely read another book by this author. If you've started this and given up, try it again and force yourself to keep going, it really picks up in the end. It actually becomes a page turner, and I thought the ending was really exquisitely done.
