A very satisfying sequel to Trainspotting, in which all your favorite characters return. The plot centers around Sick Boy's desire to get revenge on Mark Renton, who's returned to Edinburgh from Amsterdam to help Sick Boy and some of the rest of the old crew produce an indie porn flick. Yup. Meanwhile, our dear Begbie has been released from prison and is dead-set on essentially murdering Rents. More fun and less intense than Trainspotting, and each chapter is still told by different characters. Less about drugs and more about sex (go figure) and revenge. Irvine Welsh still writes everything in Scottish brogue, so once again, it can be difficult to get used to reading, but after reading a few pages out loud you should get into the language, and it's worth the work. And, get this, some of the actors from Trainspotting the film have said they'd love to make the film of the sequel. Let's hope, people, let's hope!!!
