I've only just caught onto this series recently, finally giving in to the craze and finding some copies of the books in a second hand bookshop (not ever finding them in the library as they were always out on loan and I didn't want to reserve kid's books) so I bought them all; I decided to give Harry a go. I wish I had done it sooner, this book is as endearing and comfortable like a nice granny rug. Little Harry is treated cruelly by his ordinary "muggle" aunt and uncle, being forced to live under the stairs and teased by his fat cousin Dudley, until one day he finds out he is a wizard, and is off to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. A warming and delightful tale.
