This book is really good. I liked how the story kept moving, so you never really got bored. It's a memoir about a boy name Frank McCourt, and about his life growing poor in Limerick, Ireland. I like how the author establishes his characters, and you really get the sense that the story is true and sincere, since its coming from his actual perspective. I also like how the book is written without any remorse. The author writes about things that for most people would be very embarrassing, and I myself would never want things like that written about me, but it really made the character of Frankie real and made the story feel real. Another thing that at times I liked and other times I didn't like about this story, was the way the text was formatted. It had no quotations when people were talking. This made the book kind of confusing at times because it was hard to tell when the text was dialog or just regular, but at other times I liked it because it gave the book a unique aspect. Overall, I think that this book was pretty entertaining and fun to read. It also really opened my eyes to some of the struggles that people are going through, but it wasn't exactly life changing. Still, I really enjoyed it and would recommend it.
