I can't really describe why I loved this book so much. The writing has a quality that seems to be lyrical purely for the love of language that I think is pretty rare to see -- the only other contemporary author I can think of off the top of my head who does this is David Mitchell -- it's like the book is so much else and then there's this beauty on top of it.
