I did not get very far with this one. The illustrations turned me off. For instance: "This is the lid on the box. Would you like to open it?" Come on!

I don't know what to rate this book. For now I'm giving it 4 stars, though later it may change to 5. It was a beautiful story, and I really got a lot out of it. It amazed me how real it felt, from the dust of the family traveling to Jacob's birthplace to the bright colors of ancient Egypt.
