Agnes Austriaco Austriaco itibaren Yukarısevindikli Köyü
This was a horrible horrible book. I was first attracted by the concept, which appeared to be really interesting. It's topical as well as controversial. However this could have been tackled in a book (preferably) half as long. However Tsiolkas seems to sideline the concept completely, preferring to delve into a the sexual desires and drug habits of all his "main" characters, ranging in ages from 17 to 70. It's unnecessarily graphic and base and occurs almost on every page. I will say one thing in it's favour - it's easy to read. So I did read it from start to finish, although I occasionally found myself a little flustered on the tube in case anyone was unwittingly reading over my shoulder and presumed I was some pervert.
