This book is wonderful. I listened to the unabridged audio version. There were not many characters and there was moderate digging into their inner minds of the characters that I liked. I thought the humor was superb, but it was a dry English humor, like that of Jane Austen. I couldn't help but laugh out loud on some occasions. I just loved comments like, "... impeded her with offers of assistance." The seemingly overuse of coincidences still worked well for me. I have only one criticism. The "light" versus "darkness" metaphors were overt and way too numerous. We get it! If you think Jane Austen is great then you will love this book. I did.

The Princess Bride packs a lot of laughs into a little space...the first few chapters. The author has a strong voice and is quite amusing, but it gets old after a while. The first couple of chapters will make you smile, but when you see the same jokes repeated over and over it gets tiring. If you are interested in reading the book, do yourself a favor. Read the first two chapters and then rent the movie.
