Another epistle of the Great War. The english seemed to have an addiction for this kind of lament. But I love it. Robert Graves, another great author, writes about his experiences in the trenches and with then England. Not so critical as his then friend Siegfried Sassoon but still very interesting. You feel that some aspects of his life are deliberately underexposed. In the breakup with Sassoon I favor Sassoon. Once read somewhere that Graves wrote this book to become financial independent, to leave his wife and England. That would explained the distant non emotional tone of his writing, it feels like an obligatory naming of facts.
