In some ways, this book was beautiful in it's description of love and life. In other ways, it was extremely disturbing in Flortino Ariza's blatant abuse and manipulation of women as he plays the victim of unrequited love. At least three women's lives are ruined because due to his exploits while "waiting" for his true love obsession to be conned into changing her mind.
