Much shorter than I was hoping for, this is something of an early-reader/low middle-grade book in verse -- in this case, just one single long poem with small illustrations. The quiet story and its characters are enjoyable enough, but I kept wanting a bit more depth, somehow, and in the end there's not quite enough here for me to want to come back to it for another read.
