Not my favorite book. The book had good potential, but for an action book I thought it needed more action.

Iranian teacher starts a reading group for her best female students during the Islamic Republic of Iran when women had to put the veil back on and no one could read most non-Iranian literature. She has them reading and discussing "Lolita" and "The Great Gatsby" and others by Henry James and Jane Austen. Themes: literature, Iran, cultural upheaval, American influence This is about the literature and the author and also the students. Very interesting to read how they were and how they turned out. Very interesting thoughts about the novels they read, especially Lolita.
