This was a good mystery for grades 5th-8th. The plot was like a Nancy drew story. I did not feel drawn in and engaged with the characters. However it was a fast, fun read about a worry every babysitter has.... strangers coming to the house where you are sitting. In this case the strangers were kidnapping the toddler she was watching and she got in the way and was kidnapped as well. What ensues is the angst of the parents worrying and the police trying to solve the crime, while the kidnappers are dealing with two kids. The lesson here was to remain upbeat, be resourceful.

A fun, adventurous romance with appealing lead characters. I like that the paranormal in this series does not overwhelm the romance. I especially enjoyed seeing Geoff get his own happy ending. Liz Carlyle's writing is rich, as always. I'm never disappointed in her books.
