This an important read for anyone living in a city (which statistically is most of you), who want to better understand the inner city, or who feel embarrassed by how little you know about low-income living (you don't have to ask a friend, you now have this book). It's a good start to a mammoth conversation regarding race in the U.S.
Zinn writes history from the perspective of those whose voice was not in the majority. A great compliment to your average history book.
Great.
