You have to be in the right frame of mind for this. It's part memoir, part history lesson, and part lit crit. Definitely put it down a few times. Overall, though, I loved it. Nafisi's analysis of Gatsby is among my favorite pieces of "lit about lit" of all time. My mom and I actually participated (after I'd already read the book) in a B&N online course with Nafisi, which was epic.
